The CSQ Workforce Planning Program office will develop industry-generated market information to project medium and long term labour market information. This information will be updated regularly, (or when industry-generated information is updated), and smoothes out employment swings associated with the seasonal and cyclical nature of the industry. Medium and long term employment and labour supply/demand gaps are of particular value to education and training institutions and governments as their programs and policies are also intended to address a medium and long term timeframe.
The CSQ Workforce Planning Program is designed to look at trends related to labour demand, employment growth, retirements and natural attrition, and labour supply across the construction industry, and at detailed labour demand, supply and supply/demand analysis for key core occupations across the construction industry sectors.
These key occupations will form the basis of the Sector Development Strategies and have been chosen in consultation with industry as ones that are core to the construction industry.
