The Judges for the 2008 Excellence Awards will also present the inaugural Outstanding Achievement Award to an award nominee deserving of special industry recognition in regards to excellence in the industry. 

Training Excellence - Schools Program

Winners within this category will have demonstrated the success of building and construction training within secondary schools.

The winning school will have proven their commitment to both the industry and their students through provision of training strategies that deliver on skills and career development.

The student of the year will have demonstrated outstanding knowledge and the professional and personal skills necessary to further advance a career in the building and construction industry.

Learning Organisation Excellence

This category recognises training organisations and institutions who have achieved excellence n the provision of high quality and innovative training.

The winning organisations will have demonstrated commitment to the development and implementation of leading learning and assessment  strategies. Training offered will match industry and employer needs and be administered by an effective quality management system.

Most importantly, students of these organisations will have demonstrated the benefits of the training they have received through their contribution to, and achievements within, the building and construction industry.

Employer Leadership

The awards within this category recognise the industry's leaders in employee training. Winning employers will have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the professional development of their employees through a planned approach to organisational training, focus on up-skilling and cross training, creation of clear career paths and provision of mentoring and support.

Setting new benchmarks for the industry, the winning employer programs will cover the organisation as a whole and enjoy strong support from the employees themselves.

Stars of 2008 

The Stars of 2008 awards recognise the future leaders of the building and construction industry. The recipients of these awards will have demonstrated their commitment to a career in the industry through dedication to their training and excellent personal and technical skills.
