Industry Support Program

This Industry Support Program will include the administration of most existing and new building and construction industry apprenticeship and traineeship Training Contracts.  

Currently only 57%-65% of all Queensland building and construction industry apprentices and trainees complete their training and this rate cannot be sustained when the industry is in constant need of new skilled tradespeople. The purpose of the Industry Support Program is to increase retention rates by providing a different approach to servicing the needs of the regions building and construction industry employers, apprentices and trainees through an industry driven mentoring and support model. This model will forge closer working relationships with employers and apprentices by providing any necessary support to them as they work through to the completion of their training arrangement.

The Construction Skills Queensland Industry Support Program has the support of the state government Department of Education, Training and the Arts and the commonwealth Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations.
