Proud Queensland construction business Hutchinson Builders has again taken out the premier industry-training award, Large Employer of the Year, at this year’s Australian Training Awards, which they previously won in 2011.

Emily Smith was told at the age of 15 by her school guidance councillor that as a female she could not be a carpenter. This made Emily more determined to succeed, and led her to achieve a school based apprenticeship and complete her apprenticeship with Plantation Homes. Two years ago, Emily was appointed as Plantation Homes first female Construction Supervisor.

The Association of Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI) held its Awards of Excellence event on Saturday 12 August 2017 at the Sheraton Mirage, Gold Coast. CSQ had the pleasure of sponsoring and presenting the winners of the AWCI Apprentice Challenge, Matthew Gainer and Cody Power from Scooter Commercial.
