The Smart Futures 4 North Queensland “Skills on Show” careers expo took place in Townsville earlier this month, attracting 2,600 students from 33 schools.

Over 60 industries and careers were showcased, helping students with career planning as part of their school Senior Education and Training (SET) Planning.

A survey revealed students enjoyed the hands-on activities the most, and the expo was seen as a valuable opportunity to investigate job opportunities and potential career pathways.

The CSQ construction precinct included brick and blocklaying, cabinetmaking, carpentry, civil construction, steel welding, levelling & surveying and plumbing. Other industries on show included agribusiness, defence, information technology, health and beauty.

CSQ was a major sponsor of SF4NQ.
