FAQ
Why should I consider a career in the shed building sector?
The shed building sector is booming, especially across regional Queensland where sheds, garages and carport builds are common across many properties.
Unlike other construction sectors, employment in the shed building sector does not require you to complete a Diploma of Building and Construction.
Many employers in the shed building sector look for skilled workers that are experienced in various construction techniques such as erecting steel frames, and installing roofing and cladding. Completing these shed building courses will give you the skills and experience to be recognised by employers in the shed sector and considered for employment.
I’m already employed in the shed building sector. Why should I complete these courses?
As an employee in the shed building sector, having your skills recognised is the next step to advancing your career. Completing these shed building courses will not only help you sharpen your skillset, but can also be put towards qualifications for other trades in the future, such as roofing, plumbing or carpentry, or your QBCC Sheds, Carports and Garages licence.
How can CSQ help fund my shed building courses?
If eligible, CSQ may cover between 75-100% of your shed building courses through our contracted Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Our funding is paid directly to the RTO as a contribution towards the cost of training, to reduce your out of pocket cost.
Eligibility is assessed by the RTO and they will advise you of the costs you will need to meet.
If you’d like to explore your eligibility for our funding, visit the shed building course pages above and contact a contracted RTO delivering the course you are interested in.
