The future of the construction industry is uncertain.
Rapidly accelerating technology, changing demographics, climate change, urban densification, globalisation and increased regulation. These are some of the forces fundamentally challenging the way we deliver new buildings and infrastructure.
Many of these changes will disrupt the labour model as we know it – new jobs will be created and many old jobs will be reshaped or displaced.
We need to rethink the way we deliver skills for the construction workplace of the future. What is the role of the traditional apprenticeship? How do we meet the demand for shorter, sharper, more frequent training?
Edge is a step forward in preparing the construction industry for its next chapter and beyond.
Edge is CSQ’s new initiative to inform, engage and prepare the construction industry for the change and disruption it is likely to face in the coming decades.
