CSQ has announced the appointment of Geoff Clare as new CEO.

Mr Clare moved from his Chief Financial & Operations Officer position into the acting CEO role in October, following the departure of long-serving CEO Brett Schimming.

CSQ Chair Michael Kinnane congratulated Mr Clare on his permanent appointment to the key leadership role.

“Geoff has proven his immense professional value and personal commitment to CSQ over many years of service on the leadership team.

“His passion and vision for CSQ made him a clear standout through our recruitment process and his contribution as acting CEO has impressed the Board and secured our unanimous support for his permanent appointment.

“The Board thanks Geoff for guiding CSQ these recent months and looks forward to working with him and his leadership team,” he said.

Mr Clare said he was looking forward to steering CSQ forward into its next phase of success serving the Queensland construction industry.

“CSQ has established itself as the state’s leading voice and influence in skilling and workforce development for the construction industry,” he said.

“It is highly respected by a diverse group of stakeholders spanning employers, government and unions alike and these are relationships that I will work to strengthen.

“The next 2-5 year period for Queensland construction is going to be challenging, with a massive book of work and ongoing workforce challenges.

“Training and workforce development will be front and centre as we navigate the delivery of major infrastructure, renewables and Olympic projects.

“We are going to need new approaches to manage peak demands across the state and CSQ will play an important role in developing new solutions based on industry intelligence.

“I am honoured to steer CSQ, supported by an excellent team, into our next phase of success,” he concluded.
