Record training investment for future workforce
Queensland has entered a period of unprecedented construction activity, creating opportunities across housing, infrastructure, energy and the projects that will help shape Brisbane 2032. To ensure industry is ready to meet this demand, CSQ is investing a record $83.5 million through the 2026-27 Training Plan.
Developed in partnership with industry and supported by the Queensland Government, the Training Plan focuses on attracting, training and retaining the skilled workforce needed to support Queensland’s future growth. The investment will strengthen workforce capability, expand participation, boost productivity and help businesses invest in their people.
This year’s Plan reflects the scale of opportunity ahead and outlines the programs, initiatives and partnerships that will help deliver a skilled, resilient and sustainable construction workforce across the state. It also provides insight into the workforce priorities, emerging trends and strategic investments that will help ensure Queensland has the people, skills and capability needed to make the most of the opportunities ahead.
Every part of the Training Plan is designed to support industry growth while helping businesses invest in their people.
Expanded training options, skills assessments, micro-credentials and skill sets will help workers build capability and gain recognised skills. The focus is on strengthening skills, improving productivity and supporting better outcomes for businesses and their projects.
